Bernadette Peters will not follow the current Broadway revival of Follies to Los Angeles when the production transfers to the Ahmanson Theatre for a six-week run beginning May 3, 2012. Peters opted not to continue her Follies run in order to honor her previously scheduled concert dates. No casting for the Los Angeles engagement has been announced at this time.
Peters, who has previously appeared on Broadway in Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Gypsy and A Little Night Music, is scheduled to perform at the Fisher Auditorium in Indiana, PA on May 4, the Symphony Hall in Boston, MA on May 9, the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts on May 17 in Burlington, VT and the New Jersey PAC Center in Newark, NJ on June 2.
After a summer engagement at the Kennedy Center, Follies opened at Broadway's Marquis Theatre on September 12. Directed by Eric Schaeffer and featuring a score by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Goldman, Follies will end its Broadway run on January 22. The Los Angeles engagement officially opens on May 9 and will run through June 9.
